Training in IT: Career orientation week for students
Twice a year, we open our doors to interested students who want to gain initial insights into the apprenticeship professions of IT specialist for application development (at our Falkenberg site) and electronics for automation technology (at our Erbendorf site) as part of our career orientation week “First Steps”.
This week is not just about watching – it's about getting involved: participants gain practical experience, get to know modern working environments, and get a feel for how varied and exciting training in these technical fields can be.
A special highlight are our team workshops, which not only require team spirit, but also offer great prizes for the winners.
Many motivated students take advantage of this opportunity to gain practical experience and find out whether training in IT or electronics is right for them.
Because one thing is certain: the earlier you get to know different professional fields, the easier it will be to decide on the right career path later on. Practical experience like this is invaluable when it comes to choosing the right apprenticeship.
What happens during a typical week at IGZ?
- Welcome and exciting introduction to the world of IGZ – get to know our company and our values
- Tour of our software barns, company buildings, and production area – discover where innovation and technology come together at IGZ
- Lunch together – take the opportunity to talk to trainees, trainers, and other participants
- Presentation of our apprenticeship professions in the field of IT for application development and electronics for automation technology – directly from our trainees and trainers
- First steps in ABAP programming – immerse yourself in the world of software development
- Manual skills required – take on exciting team tasks in our creative practical workshops
- Insights into IGZ software development – learn more about our tools, processes, and technologies.
- Experience technology at the IGZ Innovation Center: from gesture-controlled order picking to robots – discover modern SAP and IT applications up close.
- Team workshops with award ceremony – team spirit, creativity, and commitment are rewarded.
